Rep. Mike Flood, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 1st district since 2022, addressed key legislative efforts in digital assets and housing policy through a series of posts on July 17, 2025.

In his first post at 14:30 UTC, Flood highlighted bipartisan progress in financial technology regulation: “The CLARITY Act signals a new era of innovation in America. From advancing Web3.0 to providing clear rules of the road for the digital asset market, this bipartisan bill ensures the U.S. remains at the forefront of #Fintech. More from today’s debate on the House Floor https://t.co/4RRSjIonce”.

Later that day at 18:07 UTC, he turned attention to housing affordability and policy reform: “Housing affordability isn’t a partisan issue. We all want commonsense reforms to expand supply and lower homeownership costs. As yesterday’s @FinancialCmte Housing & Insurance witnesses made clear, the HOME program should be retooled to drive smart, bipartisan housing policy https://t.co/ZQXwAIY6nD”.

At 19:07 UTC, Flood discussed another piece of legislation focused on digital assets: “The GENIUS Act offers clear guidelines for regulators while also putting consumers and investors first. This is just the beginning for the golden age of stablecoins and digital assets in America. More on what the GENIUS Act means for you from today’s floor debate https://t.co/wNodQERIZH”.

Flood has represented Nebraska’s 1st District since replacing Jeff Fortenberry in Congress in 2022 and previously served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and currently residing in Norfolk, Flood holds degrees from both the University of Notre Dame (BA) and University of Nebraska-Lincoln (JD).
