Rep. Adrian Smith, who represents Nebraska’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared updates on his official X (formerly Twitter) account regarding local immigration policy developments, constituent outreach, and educational engagement.

On August 20, 2025, Smith addressed recent plans involving federal and state agencies: “My statement on @DHSgov and @TeamPillen’s announcement on plans to expand a facility in McCook to house @ICEgov detainees.”

Two days later, on August 22, he informed constituents about upcoming opportunities for assistance with federal matters: “My staff will be in Greeley & Ord next week.  Please stop by if you need help with a federal agency or have thoughts to share!”

Later that same day, Smith described his visit with students at Banner County School: “I had the pleasure of speaking with Banner County School students today. I welcome hearing the hopes and concerns of #NE03 students and wish them all the best at the start of a new school year.”

Smith has represented Nebraska’s 3rd District since 2007 after serving in the Nebraska Legislature from 1999 to 2007. He was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska in 1970 and currently resides in Gering. Smith graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
