Rep. Adrian Smith, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 3rd district since 2007, recently shared updates on social media regarding weather conditions, healthcare funding, and his engagement with constituents.
On April 2, 2026, Smith acknowledged recent precipitation in the state by posting: “Praise the Lord for some long overdue moisture across Nebraska!”
Later that day, he addressed healthcare access in rural areas of Nebraska: “Nebraskans deserve access to quality healthcare, regardless of their zip code. I supported the Working Families Tax Cuts to deliver $218M to Nebraska’s rural providers and help facilities like Kearney County Health Services continue to provide quality care to their patients.” This statement references federal support intended for rural health facilities.
On April 3, Smith described his ongoing outreach efforts within his district: “When Congress is not in session, I am meeting with constituents across the Third District. I take what I learn in these conversations back to Washington and use those insights to guide my work. Read more about my most recent travels below https://t.co/17h7sNAKgY”

Born in Scottsbluff in 1970 and currently residing in Gering, Smith graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with a BA in 1993.
