Rep. Mike Flood, who represents Nebraska’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted several updates on social media regarding technology and public access to government proceedings.

On September 2, 2025, Flood highlighted an upcoming financial technology event, stating: “NEW: This year’s Flyover Fintech conference features a panel on AI and Banking. Representatives from @Zest_AI, @synovus, @fnbo, and Dynamo AI are joining for it. Read all about it here: https://t.co/ASjyQJOtsw https://t.co/rZ4rbKtHYi”.

The following day, he addressed changes in how Americans can view congressional proceedings. On September 3, 2025, Flood wrote: “Since 1979, C-SPAN has offered gavel-to-gavel coverage of Capitol Hill and as more Americans switch to streaming, the decision by the streaming services to carry the network means even more households can see the work of our democratic republic directly.”

In another post made at the same time on September 3, Flood added: “This morning’s announcement that both @YouTubeTV and @hulu will add @cspan to their offerings is great news for public access to the work of Washington and transparency in our government. https://t.co/59nYo0c78a”.

Flood has represented Nebraska’s 1st district since replacing Jeff Fortenberry in 2022 and previously served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and currently residing in Norfolk at age 48, Flood earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1997 before receiving a law degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2001.
