Rep. Mike Flood, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 1st district, recently shared updates on meetings with local organizations and events in Lincoln through a series of posts on August 11, 2025.
On August 11, Flood wrote about a recent roundtable: “Recently joined a roundtable hosted at @Ameritas with life insurance providers from right here in the Cornhusker State. Great to hear their perspectives as they work to deliver the insurance products that help protect and build the Good Life. Keep up the great work!”
Later that day, he highlighted his visit to a healthcare provider: “Met with @CHIhealth’s Saint Elizabeth recently and learned more about the quality care they’re providing in Lincoln. Great healthcare providers are part of what makes Nebraska the best place in the nation to live, work, and raise a family!”

Flood has served as Nebraska’s 1st district representative since 2022 after replacing Jeff Fortenberry. Before his congressional tenure, he was a member of the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975, Flood is currently 48 years old and resides in Norfolk. He holds degrees from both the University of Notre Dame (BA) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (JD).
