U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) responded to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, which was delivered to a joint session of Congress on February 24, 2026.

In her statement, Senator Fischer said: “Tonight, President Trump articulated the success of his policies to rebuild our military, keep our communities safe, lower energy costs, and realize the American dream for all U.S. citizens. I was pleased to hear the president renew his commitment to securing our borders, strengthening our economy, and cutting waste, fraud, and abuse. I look forward to continuing to partner with him to make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous.”

The State of the Union address is an annual event where the president outlines policy achievements and legislative priorities before members of Congress.
