Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood shared a statement in anticipation of Independence Day, celebrated on Friday, July 4th. In his message, he reflected on the sacrifices made by countless individuals throughout American history to uphold the nation’s freedoms.

“As Americans gather across the country for Independence Day, we celebrate the freedoms that generations have bravely sacrificed for and fought to protect,” Congressman Flood stated. He mentioned historical events like the Boston Tea Party and the American Revolution, as well as participation in two World Wars and ongoing efforts against terrorism.

Flood acknowledged the significant loss of life in these endeavors, noting that “hundreds of thousands have given their lives to protect our constitutional republic.” He extended wishes for a safe and enjoyable holiday celebration, concluding with a blessing: “May God bless you and may God bless the United States of America.”
